The Un-Vegas Challenge Club Shoot

The August Club Shoot will be the Un-Vegas Challenge novelty shoot on Sunday, August 12, 9:00AM
To break up the monotony of the standard 28 target/4 arrow regulation NFAA round, this month we bring you the Un-Vegas Challenge shoot! This will challenge all shooters that have honed their skills at hitting the center of the target. With this novelty target, the goal is to hit the outer edge of the target, but not too close! An arrow touching the outermost line counts as ZERO points, just as touching the outermost line of the 9 point area gets 10 points.
To get the most points, an archer will need to be familiar with the size and shape of their natural grouping. If the groups are oval shaped and bigger horizontally, then using the top or bottom portions of the target will yield more consistent scores. If bigger vertically, then use the right or left side. If the size of your groups is about the same as the standard 10 ring, then aiming for the X-ring will put about a third of your arrows outside for ZERO points. Aiming between the 9 and 10 rings might give you a higher total score with all arrows getting points.

I wish I had some advice on how to hold steady on the edge of the target instead of the center, but like the animal round, you will not have circles to center in circles for this shoot. I have a feeling that this round will be a lot like golf. Try not to break up your equipment.
Shooting will be done from the closest Yellow stake (animal round), 3 arrows, x-10-9-8-….1, outside to inside scoring, respectively, 15 targets. If an arrow touches a line, it gets the score for the next outward area. (Outermost line = 0)

Place pins will be awarded. Classes will depend on number of participants.
