Flashlight Shoot and Barbecue

The Flashlight Shoot is Saturday, October 27.
The food! Our annual BBQ begins around 5:30 pm and features grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and tri-tip. The club provides the meat, buns and condiments. The rest is potluck; please bring side dishes and desserts for 10-20 people (true potluck—no organization!) Bring your own drinks too.

The Shoot! You will need warm clothes and shoes suitable for the trail, and a flashlight that will reach 20 yards (the small pen flashlights won’t do). Maximum distance will be 30 yards; we shoot from the cub stakes. Fourteen targets total; several on the practice range and the rest in the canyon. The targets will be Jim Purcell’s finest from the very best of our local dumpsters, and the scoring will be incomprehensible. Children are very welcome to participate! They love it! What could be better than shooting under the trees in the dark? The children must be accompanied by an adult!!!! Shooting will start at 6:30pm. If you are not already there for the BBQ, be sure to be on time for the shooting!

The Awards! In addition to your archery equipment, it is requested you bring an inexpensive “white elephant gift” wrapped for anonymity (newspaper or anything). These will be the awards. Gather in the clubhouse for hot drinks and the “award ceremony”. Y’all come, especially kids!
